<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The significance of the polymorphic variants rs10490924 (A69S) of the age-related maculopathy susceptibility 2 gene (ARMS2) and rs1061170 (Y402H) of the complement factor H gene (CFH) for risk assessment of neovascular agerelated macular degeneration (nAMD) in the Belarusian population was studied. It was established that by minor alleles hetero- and homozygotes are associated with a high risk of nAMD. It was shown that the risk of disease development increases many times with each minor allele copy (the log-additive inheritance model) both for rs10490924 and rs1061170. The ARMS2 rs10490924 polymorphism has the greatest risk significance. At the same time, the analysis of paired genotype combinations by the loci studied is more informative for risk assessment than for individual loci. The results obtained can be used to assess a genetic predisposition to nAMD in the Belarusian population.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>неоваскулярная возрастная макулярная дегенерация</kwd><kwd>белорусская популяция</kwd><kwd>rs10490924 ARMS2</kwd><kwd>rs1061170 CFH</kwd><kwd>оценка риска</kwd><kwd>модель наследования</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>neovascular age-related macular degeneration</kwd><kwd>Belarusian population</kwd><kwd>ARMS2 rs10490924</kwd><kwd>CFH rs1061170</kwd><kwd>risk assessment</kwd><kwd>inheritance model</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group><funding-statement xml:lang="ru">Работа выполнена в рамках мероприятия 14 «Исследовать фармакогеномику возрастной макулярной дегенерации сетчатки (ВМД) и разработать систему оценки эффективности анти-VEGF терапии у пациентов с прогрессирующей формой заболевания» (2022–2024 гг.) подпрограммы «Инновационные биотехнологии-2025» государственной программы «Наукоемкие технологии и техника» на 2021–2025 годы.
